I enjoy teaching graduate-level electromagnetism and undergraduate intro-level physics. In my research lab we investigate the dynamics of ultracold (microKelvin!) atoms organized into “optical lattices” by laser beams, for applications in nanolithography and quantum computing. We also investigate refractometry of turbid (i.e., highly scattering) media for bio and environmental sensing.
I enjoy playing badminton, racquetball, and cricket in my plentiful free time. I also enjoy taking long walks with my family in the evening. I love reading from the Scientific American to my 12 year old when she lets me.
